About

Welcome to “Following Jesus.” Perhaps some of these thoughts, shared by one who is on the journey following Jesus with millions of others might speak to you.

My name is Volkhard Graf. I’m German, married since 1980 to Marianne, a wonderful woman, who is sharing this journey with me. Since 1993, we serve with Youth With A Mission, (YWAM) among the beautiful Nez Perce people in Idaho. Our aim is to be faithful friends, pointing to Creator God, who has called all people to follow his Son, Jesus.

Although Native People have been severely mistreated, stolen from and have suffered a lot, we believe they have a bright future. Joy shall replace sadness, instead of ashes they shall wear a headdress of honor and dignity. They shall be called servants of God. Because they got a double dose of trouble and more than their share of contempt, their inheritance in the land shall be doubled and their joy go on forever. Their descendants will become well-known among the Nations as the people the LORD has blessed. (from Isaiah 61)

Many of these posts were written to encourage other followers of Jesus to grow in this “long obedience in the same direction,”)* enabled, nurtured, and sustained by His grace.

I invite you to subscribe to this blog. If you like to know more about the ministry we’re serving with, check out ywam.org and our local site, ywamfirstnations.org

Let’s follow the King!
